More proof that EF is lying (scan of the contract they signed with RoidStore)

Filed under: Other — Anthony Roberts @ 4:35 pm

I was reading over some of EF’s claims about RoidStore, and their involvement with it. Now, remember, this is Brian’s supplement company, and not mine – so I didn’t have this information until right now, and didn’t know the details of their arrangement until a minute ago. I am posting a scan of the contract they had with RoidStore, and reprinting their comments regarding it. Essentially, they claim that they didn’t know they’d be advertising the RoidStore (even though it ays so 2x on the contract), and they also say that they were “finally able to pull the ads” last summer…in truth, Brian signed a 1 month contract with them in December, and they not only knew that they’d be advertising the RoidStore, but they also could have pulled the ad 30 days after it first started (they knew what they were advertising, and knew they didn’t have to advertise it). All the shit they’re talking on their forums and in their latest mailer is a total lie. Here’s proof:

(The Following in Red/Italics is from EliteFitness.com’s latest mailer, and from their forums….you can look it up if you don’t believe me):

“We had worked with Anthony, promoting him and his book for a long time, when he introduced us to his partner Brian and said that Brian wanted to advertise on EliteFitness.com. Having no idea at the time about the connection between Steroid.com and RoidStore.com, we signed an agreement to run Brian’s advertising on the EliteFitness.com site thinking we would be promoting Brian and Anthony’s Steroid.com discussion forums. But we got screwed big time. We had an agreement with them obligating us to run their ads, only to discover that we were not going to be running Steroid.com ads at all. Instead, they forced us to run banners advertising their RoidStore

Finally, in the late summer of 2007, our arrangement with Brian came to an end and we got to pull their RoidStore banners.”

And here’s a copy (scroll down…it’s a huge scan, so you can read it properly) of the actual contract that EF agreed to prior to running RoidStore ads:

Let’s see how much George Spellwin/ Paul Willingham knows…(Interview in Businessweek)

Filed under: Other — Anthony Roberts @ 4:05 pm

Paul Willingham (the owner of EliteFitness, who often posts as the fictional “George Spellwin”) was interviewed a couple of years back, when a kid died from taking DNP. As everyone knows, DNP can fucking kill you, end of story. Take too much, you fucking fry yourself. EVERYONE knows that…but let’s see if the owner of EliteFitness does (the alleged “author” of many articles on bodybuilding and performance enhancing drugs). At least I thought everyone knew that. A few years back, some kid went to EliteFitness, and got some DNP from a dude on the site, after he read about how great it is. And he fucking died. So Businessweek interviewed George Spellwin (Paul Willingham), and asked him if DNP is dangerous. Here’s an excerpt from the article in Businessweek:

SEPTEMBER 2, 2002

COVER STORY

The Underground Web
Drugs. Gambling. Terrorism. Child Pornography. How the Internet makes any illegal activity more accessible than ever

DRUGS. The easy availability of drugs on the Web proved deadly for Eric Perrin. An avid bodybuilder, Perrin bought some dinitrophenol, or DNP, over the Net last summer because it was supposed to help him lose weight and get better muscle definition. While DNP is promoted on some fitness Web sites, it’s illegal to sell for human consumption. The chemical is legal only for use in industrial applications such as a coating on railroad ties to kill fungus. In humans, DNP can shut down the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. Last August, Perrin took DNP for several days. As his body temperature began to rise and his heart started to race, his mother, Barbara, grew concerned. “He told me, `Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll be all right,”‘ she says. “He was in a lot of pain.” Eric died on Aug. 6 at a hospital near his home in Baldwin, N.Y. He was 22.

While the local U.S. Attorney is prosecuting the man who allegedly sold Eric Perrin the DNP, Barbara Perrin thinks the dealer isn’t the real culprit. She places most of the blame on the Internet and Elite Fitness, a New York company that runs the Web site where her son read about the supposed benefits of DNP and got in touch with the dealer. She is convinced that without the Web, her son would be alive today. “DNP is not something you find easily,” she says. Without the Internet, “Eric may have gotten steroids, but not DNP.”

Even today, Elite Fitness provides what appears to be a forum for people to meet who are interested in drugs. With a quick search of the site, BusinessWeek found dozens of postings from bodybuilders promoting the benefits of DNP, explaining how to use the drug, and downplaying its health risks. After one visitor asked on an electronic bulletin board why people die from taking DNP, one of the site’s moderators responded by writing: “Get your fluids, and you’ll [b]e A-O.K.” Another moderator posted ground rules for members to communicate in private so they could share information about “sources.” And members write that the best way to check out a source for restricted drugs is to e-mail a moderator. Paul Willingham, a partner at New York’s Caliber Design Inc., which owns Elite Fitness, says the site simply provides a vehicle for bodybuilders to talk about any subject. “We don’t provide a forum to buy and sell drugs,” he says. “We’re building a community for discussing physical fitness.”

Willingham, like the moderator on Elite, argues that DNP is safe. He says that DNP is only dangerous if it is combined with other drugs, such as Ecstasy or speed. Dr. Thomas Manning, the chief toxicologist at the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office, says that Perrin had no other chemicals in his body at the time of death.

Ok, Paul/George…DNP is only dangerous if you combine it with other drugs??? This is the owner of a huge site that claims to be about fitness, and he says you can ONLY die from DNP if you use it with other drugs (even though the kid from the article above wasn’t on anything else). You can tell he really cares about the community….so much that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, and after his site facilitated a kids death, he said DNP can’t kill you alone.

Brilliant.

Some more comments…just a professional/logical look at what’s gone down

Filed under: Other — Anthony Roberts @ 3:34 pm

I guess there is a misconception about how “damaging” Elite’s recent actions (in the forum and mailer) are to me. I don’t think they really are, to be honest. Let’s face it…I’m not going to lose my job on steroid.com..hell, EF attacked my boss along with me. So financially it’s not going to hurt me. Professionally, I really doubt that anyone “important” goes to EF…I’m talking about mainstream media here, mostly. When a steroid book is being written or an article or whatever, chances are that when they research steroids, they’re going to end up on steroid.com, if they end up on any forums at all (besides a main page). EF has never launched a career of anyone, and the only people who were successful there - were successful beforehand.

Most of the major books and articles over the last 2-3 years have used steroid.com as a reference. In fact, I’ve never seen Elite used as a reference in any of them…while steroid.com is in several. If you wanna know how to use winstrol, would you go there, or steroid.com? It’s not even a choice, right? They don’t even have profiles (although they’re attempting to find people to write them, and asking around to see if people will do it). But on a personal note, if you went to Anabolex, Isteroids, SteroidProfiles, MesoRx, or steroid.com, you’d end up looking at my profiles…because I did them for all of those sites. And still, EF has 2 of my articles on their main page currently. They dislike me so much they still sell my books and have my articles on their main page.

Oh…and did I mention that they used articles I wrote to sell Anabolic Gameplan? Yeah, if you saw the sales letter for that book, they give you 10 “free bonus reports”, which are just old articles….and 5 of them were written by me! How fucking sleazy is that?  Using my articles to sell another guy’s book!

I’m pretty dispassionate about this, honestly, and just talking about it from a professional/logical point of view. I mean…the fact of the matter is that you can look for yourself at what they’ve done vs/ what they have said. They still have my articles up, they still try to use my name and articles to sell other books, they stll sell and promote my products…I just think if you look at this logically and see what I’m asking for (to sever all ties with them and to have exclusive rights to my books returned to me), and see what they’re doing (still selling them, using my articles to sell other books, keeping my articles on the main page, etc…) - you can figure out who legitimately wants nothing to do with the other side.

And remember, this is about copyright infringement - and we’ve already seen that they have had to remove one book already. But I guess I’m at fault…It’s my fault for being a backstabber, yet they have taken down one of their books (even though I’m wrong?), and still sell mine. Does what they’re doing make sense compared wo that they’re saying?

As much as they may want to say that I’m a scumbag and all that other shit, their actions speak far louder than their words. They are talking about protecting the site and the community and all this other shit…but if you really see what they’re doing, they’re trying to keep all of my work and products, earn money off me and my name, and at the same time tell the members that I’m a scumbag and that they want nothing to do with me.

If they want nothing to do with me, then why are they still selling my books, and why are my articles still all over their main page and in their articles section? It just doesn’t add up because they’re lying. Don’t take my word for it, compare their actions and their words.

Did EliteFitness.com Copy my work? You be the judge…

Filed under: Other — Anthony Roberts @ 10:00 am

This is just one example of many…it’s an old blog post I made…it’s a scan of 2 pages from the Anabolic GamePlan, and below it is the same profile from my book. The highlighted portions are where it was copied. You judge for yourself, and weigh that against EF’s claim that “no one believes any significant copying took place”
